After breakfast, you continue your ascent through the rainforest, which gradually transforms into moorland. The trail becomes steeper as you climb towards the Horombo Hut at an altitude of about 3,700 meters (12,100 feet). The hike on this day typically takes around 6-8 hours, and you will have impressive views of the Kibo summit along the way.
To aid in the acclimatization process, it is crucial to have a day dedicated to rest and acclimatization at the Horombo Hut. You can spend the day exploring the area or going on short hikes to gain altitude during the day and returning to the hut for overnight rest. This helps your body adjust to the increasing altitude and improves your chances of a successful summit attempt.
After breakfast, the trek continues through the alpine desert landscape as you ascend towards the Kibo Hut at an altitude of approximately 4,700 meters (15,430 feet).
